Patricia's obituary
Patricia Ann (Moriarty) Chambers, 82, a long-time resident of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 after living with Alzheimer’s disease for many years.
Pat, or Trish as she preferred, was born in Springfield, MA to Edward Timothy Moriarty and Emily (Harper) Moriarty, who both predeceased her. She spent her early childhood in Springfield, moving to Longmeadow when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Longmeadow High School as a member of the first class to attend all four years in the new school.
One of her first jobs was working for John Breck at Breck Shampoo. It was at this time that she met her first husband, Alton King Jr., with whom she had a daughter. Pat continued her secretarial career at Springfield Hospital before moving to Wisconsin with her second husband, Charles Chambers, with whom she had two sons. She returned to college and graduated from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI.
Pat happily returned to New England in the early eighties, settling in West Hartford, CT, where she lived until 2020. She worked for the Town of West Hartford and later at Avon Old Farms Hotel, a position that she truly loved.
She is survived by her three children, Kymberli King Cormier of Barnstable, MA, Timothy E. Chambers of Hartford, CT, and Steven C. Chambers of Windsor, CT and her two granddaughters, Emily Raye and Francesca Cormier.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Unitarian Universalist Society East, 153 Vernon St., W., Manchester, CT.
