Patria's obituary
It is with great sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Patria Cintron, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world on 2/23/2025 at the age of 82.
Born on February 10, 1943, Patria was a beloved soul who touched many lives. Not a day will go by that she will not be missed.
Patria married the love of her life, Luis A. Cintron, on July 27, 1963. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories until Luis's passing. Patria's heart, though heavy with loss, continued to embrace their love with his memory giving her the strength to endure the battle that lay ahead of her with the unforgiving disease that is Alzheimer’s. She endured and fought the battle like the warrior she was and never for a second forgot her soulmate Luey.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Maria Mujica, and son-in-law, Joseph Mujica; her beloved son, Jose Cintron, and daughter-in-law, Tiffany R. Johnson.
Predeceased by her cherished husband, Luis, as well as her father, Patricio Rivera, her mother, Victoria Acevedo, and her Uncle Toño Acevedo.
Patria remained a pillar of strength and resilience for her family.
Patria's legacy lives on through her seven adoring grandchildren: Victoria Renee Cintron, Luis David Cintron, Amanda Newton, and Kassandra Mujica, who brought her immense joy and pride. Additionally, she was blessed with two beautiful great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Landon Newton and an abundance of family and friends she held very dear to her heart.
Patria's spirit shined brightest when she was with her family. Although she could be stubborn at times and head strong, with the mouth of a sailor she was full of love and had an unwavering ability to bring people together, and her home was a haven filled with laughter, delicious meals, and the memories of a lifetime. Her embrace was a comfort, her laugh infectious, and her love for her family unmatched.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the countless hearts she touched. Patria Cintron may have departed from this earthly realm, but she leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of her family forever.
A memorial service to honor Patria's life will be held on 3/15/2025 at our lady of Fatima church at 1250 route 32 Plattekill,NY 12568
