Pamela's obituary
Pamela Jean Maybee Snyder, 61, most recently of Midway, UT, passed away January 31, 2026 after a hard-fought battle with colon cancer.
Born in Milton, FL on December 2, 1964 to US Navy pilot Dan Cruise and Carol Krumbach Maybee, Pam was the author of her own story from the start. In high school, she ran cross country and track and worked as a lifeguard at Smithtown beaches on the Long Island Sound. She graduated from Smithtown West HS, New York, in 1982, attended Johnson & Wales college, then earned her bachelor’s degree in Travel & Tourism from Michigan State University in 1987. Her spirit of adventure led her to Breckenridge, CO, where she worked as a concierge for Hilton Hotels and discovered a lifelong love for skiing. She then returned to New York, working in NYC as a conference planner for Corporate Finance magazine, which allowed her to travel. In NY, she met Air Force officer Marc Snyder, married in 1991 and eventually settled in Fairfax, VA. For the next 25 years in VA she was active at Truro Church, organizing the annual 5K for the pre-school for several years, and raised her sons. She also began a lifelong wellness journey, teaching many others along the way as founder/CEO of Pamela Snyder Wellness and distributor for Young Living. Pam landed in Midway, Utah in 2021 and with her can-do spirit (and her brilliant white hair), she made friends quickly. She spent her days working part-time at Midway Bakery & area golf courses, attending Mountain Life Church in Park City, and volunteering for the Deer Valley Summer Concert Series – as well as lots of skiing, golfing and hiking, plus side trips to Aruba, Michigan and wherever family and friends would gather.
Pam most loved Jesus Christ, her children, the beach and the mountains. She will be remembered for her hearty laugh, dry humor, straight talk, bright smile, feisty spirit, fierce loyalty, and “You’ve got this!” attitude.
Pam is survived by her sons, Jake Snyder (Kylie), William Snyder (Anna), granddaughter Daphne, sister Dana Cunningham (Jim), brother Sean Maybee (Yvette), nephews Jamie and Colin Cunningham, Bennett Maybee, niece Arden Maybee, her aunt Jean Azar, as well as family and friends around the world too numerous to name.
A special thank you from Pam’s family to her dear friend Wendy for her love and devotion through Pam’s final moments and to hospice care from Intermountain Health.
In accordance with Pam's wishes, we will be hosting a memorial service for her on March 7th, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Mountain Life Church in Park City, Utah. There will be a luncheon following the service with details to follow. For those who cannot travel to Utah at this time but wish to celebrate Pam's life with us, her memorial service will be available to join virtually.
