Pamela's obituary

On July, 2020, Pamela Porter gained her wings and rejoined her heavenly family. Pamela was born January 9, 1960 in Newark, New Jersey. She relocated to Florida in the early 80’s and her love for sunshine and the beach made Florida become her forever home. She was a phenomenal single mother of four children, and also helped raise and nurture a host of others including two of her nieces. Pamela absolutely loved children, which was a large part of why she chose to become a Licensed Day Care Provider for over 25 years. She had such a compassionate spirit and a passion for helping others especially young mothers. No matter what life threw her way she never wavered, she always stood tall, independent, and persevered especially during her battle with COPD. She truly was loved by many and will be missed deeply. While her family grieves her loss, her faith was strong and she adored the Lord so we take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Pamela is predeceased by her Father Harold Nelson and Mother Jean Richardson(Gordon), Sister, Shawne Nelson. She is survived by her Stepfather, William Felder, her brother, Tony Nelson, her children, Zakiyyah Nelson-Leon, Naquisha Gibson, Charles Porter, Terrell Nelson, nieces Tonya and Talia Nelson, 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

At her request there will only be a private celebration of life for her immediate family.
