❤️Remembering
Pamela Marie Musser
1946-2024
Today, my darling friend, a woman I called my cousin for 71 years, ‘the last of the Musser family’, passed away from cancer in Fort Worth, Texas. Pam gave it a hard fight, but as she said a few days ago, cancer won in the end. Pam passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, her daughter Julie, son, Ian, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She told them that she had a wonderful life, thanked them for being with her, and that she loved them all. It was a loving farewell from a beautiful soul.
Four days ago, Pam made a touching post on her Facebook page which read:
“Cherish every moment and every person in your life, because you never know when will be the last time you see someone.
Life is fragile, take nothing and no one for granted.”
✿♥‿♥✿ Pam’s Life Story
We all grew up with the MUSSER family. The Musser family were family to all of us. They came to our birthdays, weddings, and holiday parties.
In 1950, the Musser family was living in Lititz, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Mahlon age 33 was a WWII Army Veteran and working as a pressman at a chocolate factory. Dotty, his wife, 29, Pam 3, and Ned age 1.
In 1956 the family moved to Venice, California. Mahlon was working for McDonald Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, Dottie a homemaker with 3 children.
Uncle Mahlon, Aunt Dotty, Pam, Ned, and Joe. Charles ‘Mahlon’ Musser and Dorothy Mae Walter Musser, were my godparents. From the time I was born until they moved to Canoga Park in 1960, I practically lived at their Venice, California house on Lyceum. They were my second parents during my young years. And their children were my cousins.
🌸The Musser home meant one thing: THE 4TH OF JULY Party
Those memories of the Musser home in Canoga Park are instilled in all our memories: BBQ, corn on the cob, watermelon, swimming races, joke telling, beer drinking, Aunt Dotty’s famous upside-down cake, and the finale, the fireworks show. I distinctly remember watching my teenage sister Sandee and cousin Pam showing off in their bikinis, giggling about boys, and playing with the Musser dog, a poodle, Eiffle.
Pam graduated from Chatsworth High School in the Winter of 1965, and was a bridesmaid in my sister Sandee’s wedding that same year. I was in attendance with my parents when Pam married Frank Gomez on March 25, 1967 in Canoga Park. From this marriage was born my God-daughter, Julie Marie Gomez. Pam would marry once more to Charles M Connally, and a son, Ian joined the family.
Pam and Julie moved to Texas and Pam happily retired in December of 2012 from Lockheed Martin, Grand Prairie, Texas, where she worked as a Software Quality Engineer. Pam took up the hobby of weaving on a loom, even using Yak and silk roving.
From the time I can remember, Pam always had a dog. She loved her fur babies! She has owned a Great Dane, Irish setter, an Irish Wolfhound names Farris, and lastly, an Australian sheep dog and many more!
☀ Pam loved the earth, the ocean, beautiful flowers, gardening, and her family most of all.
Per Pam's wish, she donated her body to medical research. A Celebration of Life is planned for a future date, with her ashes spread in the ocean, and to quote her ‘ a big party’ is how she would like to be remembered.
♱ Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Mahlon Musser (1915-1989), Dorothy ‘Dotty’ Musser (1921-1994), her brothers Joe Musser (1951-1991) and Ned (1948-2006). Pam is survived by her daughter Julie, son Ian, their spouses, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
“Your memory will be kept alive in our hearts forever” 💖
