Pamela's obituary
Pamela Jean Mittelstadt, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Galt, California, on October 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 16, 1954, in Gardena, California, Pamela lived a life full of love, strength, and devotion to the people and places she held dear. A graduate of Galt High School’s Class of 1972, Pamela remained deeply connected to the Galt community throughout her life. Her career reflected her strong work ethic and vibrant spirit. Many in the area remember her warm smile from her years working retail at Longs Drugs and Ben Franklin Crafts before its closure. Later, she worked at More 4 Less in Galt for a number of years and was her final place of employment before she had to retire early due to her medical conditions. However, it was behind the wheel of a school bus that Pamela found her greatest joy. She drove for both Lodi and Galt Unified School Districts and cherished every moment spent. Especially Field trips, they were her favorite—she loved being part of those special days. Pamela thrived outdoors under the California sun. Whether pulling weeds or planting flowers in her yard or cruising through town on her bicycle, she found peace and happiness outside . But nothing lit up her world quite like softball. A fierce competitor and one of the best first base players in the league. Pamela played for years in women’s fastpitch and coed slow pitch in both Galt and Lodi. Her passion for the game was legendary—she slid into bases with fearless determination, often leaving the field however with bloody knees and a triumphant smile.
Above all else, Pamela's heart belonged to her family though. She shared a deep bond with HER B.O.B., the love of her life and spent the last 25 years together side by side.
Her 3 children, Jason, Kris and Kim where something she was proud of and proud to call hers ..
Siblings, nieces and nephews—she was more than just “Mom,” “Sister,” or “Aunt.” She was a friend whose strength and kindness left an indelible mark on their hearts. Her role as “Grandma Pam” brought out her brightest light. She adored each of her grandchildren and gave several if not all of them there own song she would sing to them Trevor, Caleb, Jason Jr., Andrew, Renee, Autumn, Aiden, Brenden, Jalin, Lil Kris, Jessica, Lil Logan, Makayla, Zachary, Makenzie, Kamille, Khloe, Paisley, and Isaiah. Every one of them had a piece of her heart. An know Grandma Pam loves you!
