Pamela's obituary

Today, we gather to honor and celebrate the life of Pamela Brown—a woman whose strength, love, and spirit left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. Born in Arima on Sept 9th 1967 to Janet and Cubert Brown.

Pamela’s journey brought her to the United States in the 1990s, carrying with her determination, resilience, and a vision for a better life. She worked tirelessly over the years, wearing many hats—babysitter, hairdresser, proud salon owner, and later a dedicated property manager in Mount Pocono. No matter the role, Pamela approached her work with pride, independence, and a no-nonsense attitude that people respected and admired.

But beyond all of her accomplishments, Pamela’s greatest love—her entire world—was her son. Everything she did, every sacrifice she made, was for him. Her love was fierce, unwavering, and unconditional. It was clear to anyone who saw them together that he was her heart.

Pamela will be remembered for her vibrant personality—she was funny, generous, and deeply caring. She had a way of making people laugh, even in difficult moments, and she gave of herself freely to those she loved. She was the kind of person who told it like it was, but always from a place of love.

Family meant everything to Pamela. She shared a special bond with her niece Tricia, whom she loved dearly. Her mother was not just her parent, but her best friend—a relationship built on trust, closeness, and deep love. She was also blessed with incredible girlfriends who stood by her side through life’s ups and downs, and a family who cherished her deeply.

In February 2025, Pamela was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She faced her illness with the same strength and resilience that defined her life. And although she lost her battle on April 10th, 2026, her courage and spirit remain an inspiration to us all.

We would also like to give special thanks to Carey Newberry, a dear friend who stood by Pamela’s side with unwavering love and support until the very end. That kind of friendship is a true gift.

Pamela leaves behind a loving family who will continue to carry her spirit forward: her beloved son, Kendal-Mark Brown; her mother and best friend, Janet Brathwaite; aunts Jennifer, Barbra; uncles Ralph, Oscar, and Eldon; sisters Fern, Lovern, and Erica.

Pamela Brown was a woman of strength, love, humor, and heart. Though she is no longer with us, the impact she made, the love she gave, and the memories she created will live on forever in all of us. May she rest in peace, and may we carry her legacy forward with the same love and strength she showed every day of her life.
