Pamela's obituary
Pam Falkstrom, 75, passed away on October 31, 2024, at Methodist Hospital.
Pam was born on December 15, 1948, to Phillip and Roseanna Johnson in Rockford, Illinois.
Pam was a force of joy and kindness wherever she went. She enjoyed volunteering at The Playhouse, working at Meredith/NeoData/HP, or spending a night out with friends and family. She loved theatre, seeing her son Matt’s bands, meeting new people and learning about different cultures. She always gave to those who needed help, whether it was a stranger on the street asking for money or her closest family members going through struggles.
Pam believed the purpose of life was to learn about ourselves and each other. She frequently used a paraphrase of Maya Angelou and would say “You know better, you do better.”
The most important thing in Pam’s life was her family. She dedicated every day of her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins, and large extended family. They were her priority every day.
Pam is survived by her….
Sons Matt (Tess) and Michael, grandchildren Kurt, Kourtney (Kyle), Angel (Andy), Gage (Lis), Gadah (Josh), Gavin, Greyson, and Lucy; great grandchildren Arin, Eleanor, and Andy. She is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pam was preceded in death by…
Husband Lew, Parents Phil and Rose, son Mitch, brother Phillip Dale, and sisters Mikan and Missy.
Family will be greeting friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
