Pamela's obituary
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce that Pamela O'Reilly Fahey of Milton, MA, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend passed away on September 8, 2025 at the age of 64. Pamela was surrounded by her loving family, husband, Thomas Fahey of Milton, daughter Kristen Lamie of Quincy, son Michael Lamie of Brighton, her parents, Gordon and Priscilla (Palmer) O'Reilly of Norwell, MA, brother Steven O'Reilly Sr. and wife, Andrea, of Topsfield, MA, brother Scott O'Reilly and his wife, Rachel of Concord, MA, O'Reilly nieces Jessica, Julia, Nicole and Brooke and nephew, Steven O'Reilly, Jr.
Pam discovered her deep, lasting passion for the environment while pursuing studies in Environmental Science at Nasson College in Sanford, ME, where she earned her B.S. While working as an environmental scientist at CDM Smith in Cambridge, MA, Pam attended Boston University at night and earned a master's degree in public health. After nearly 30 years with CDM Smith, Pam left to become Director of Public Health for the town of Cohasset, MA, devoting herself to the well-being of the community.
Pam was a talented and spirited athlete who thrived on competition. She excelled at basketball and track at Norwell, MA High School and continued to play basketball at Nasson College. After graduating from college, Pam ran competitively in local races, as well as for conditioning and pleasure. She loved hiking and mountain biking in the Blue Hills adjacent to her home with her athletically challenged husband, Tom, at her side. The couple also enjoyed playing golf together and vacationing each summer on Martha's Vineyard with Kristen, Mike, and Tom's four children -- Sara, Veronica, Liam, and Devin -- from his previous marriage.
In quieter moments, Pam was an avid reader, often found basking on her deck, in the sun with a good book. Whether tending her home's lush landscaping, or engaging in her favorite activities, Pam embraced every day with a dynamic spirit. She seemed to always be on the go. Pam was known for her infectious joy, her beautiful smile, her absolute authenticity, and her ability to forge enduring personal and professional connections. Pam was extremely proud of her two children, Kristen and Mike. Whether she was attending a concert or a Kiss 108 Book Club event with Kristen (even if Kristen had not actually read the book) or spending time in the outdoors with Mike, she cherished every moment with them. Her vibrant personality attracted legions of loyal friends and her laughter still echoes on the hearts of those who loved her.
A funeral service for Pam will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church at 17 Church Street in Hanover, MA on Saturday, September 20 starting at 10am. In lieu of flowers, Pam’s family requests that admirers of Pam donate to either the Milton Animal Shelter, where she adopted her beloved orange cat Gizmo (www.miltonanimalleague.org) or St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Hanover (www.standrewshanover.org) The service will be live streamed on the St. Andrew’s website.
