Pahl's obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of Pahl Matthew Goff. He was born in Sacramento, California, to Boyd M. Goff and Wanda J. Pahl. A little over a year after Pahl’s birth, Boyd, a bomber pilot, died during wartime action in 1943. Pahl was later adopted by Wanda’s second husband James R Guild in 1953.
He attended Christian Brothers Academy before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1961. Pahl served for four years. After leaving the service, Pahl married Roxy A. Leitzell and lived in the California Central Valley working for the prison system before moving to the Roseburg area in 1969. Pahl and Roxy had a son, Pahl "Matt" Goff Jr.
He worked for the Winston Police Department and Fire Department before going to work for Hanna Nickel Company in the early 1970s. Pahl worked in the Nickel smelter before becoming an apprentice electrician and later a journeyman electrician. Pahl worked as an electrician until the late 1990s. He concluded his working career as a TSA Officer at the Eugene, Oregon, airport in 2005. Pahl lived in the Eugene area until the time of his death.
Pahl was preceded in death by his brother Steven Guild. He is survived by his sister Deborah Ansbaugh of Nampa, Idaho, son Matt and his family of Salem, Oregon, as well as the many others who loved him.
