Pabu's obituary

Pabu Yori, 17, crossed the rainbow bridge on the 3rd of September peacefully being held by his family.

Born in August 2004 in Scottsdale, Arizona, Pabu was adopted by his parents, Liz and Mark; he joined their family which consisted of one son, Karsten and was later joined by his sister, Ella.

He is survived by his grandparents, parents, sister and brother and dog sister, Ruca and cat sister, Penelope. He was predeceased by his dog sister, Paisley, and dog brother, Jake, who welcomed him on the other side.

Pabu’s favorite activities were eating, spending time with his parents and siblings, going on car rides and sleeping. Pabu loved being around all types of people and was always so happy to meet new friends - fur and human. Pabu loved living in Arizona, but hated monsoon season and the thunderstorms that came with it. Pabu loved to visit his grandparents in Payson and enjoyed sleepovers at his aunt and cousin’s house - he always got extra treats and snuggles.

Above all, Pabu loved his mom. He greeted her every time she came through the door, sat next to her on the couch, slept at the foot of the bed, and when it became too difficult to jump on and off the bed, Pabu slept next to his mom on the floor on his dog bed. He was always there; the best kind of companion. Pabu had a heart of gold and treated everyone he met like they were his best friend. He taught so many the true meaning of unconditional love.

Pabu fought a year long battle with liver cancer. He never complained, never cried or acted out. He tried to keep going the very best he could. The few days leading up to his passing weren’t the easiest, but the day of his death, he rested easy, on his favorite spot in the dining room - just underneath the window, where the sun streamed in and warmed his bones.

We will think of him every time we open the pantry door to give his sister a treat, every time we pass the dining room and every time Liz - she will miss seeing his fluffy white fur curled up in his dog bed. We will carry him in our hearts everywhere we go.

He will be forever missed and never forgotten. He loved us steadily and fiercely, as did we. In lieu of flowers, we ask you give your dog an extra hug and treat in our honor of Pabu.
