Otto T. Solbrig was born on December 21, 1930, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His father, Hans J. Solbrig, was German and went to Argentina after World War I. His mother, née Rose Mabel Muggleworth, was born in Wales but grew up in Argentina. Otto attended the best high school in Argentina, the army-run Liceo Militar, for three years, then as it became more militarized moved to the public high …
