Otilia Hernandez Martinez, born in Puerto Rico, a 43-year resident of Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY, pass away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2018. She was born in the municipality of Maricao, Puerto Rico on December 18, 1915, she was 102 years old. Otilia was a loving and resilient woman. She married her one true love, Luis Quiñones (1911-1979). She was the matriarch of our family and is survived by nine of her eleven children, twenty-nine grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. We like to think that as she ascends into the heaven that my grandfather Luis and uncle Juan and aunt Edith are waiting for her at the pearly gates. Her remains will be flown to Puerto Rico as her last resting place.

Otilia Hernández Martínez, nacida en Puerto Rico, residente de 43 años de Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY, falleció el domingo 25 de noviembre de 2018. Nació en el municipio de Maricao, Puerto Rico el 18 de diciembre de 1915, tenía 102 años de edad. Otilia era una mujer amorosa y resistente. Se casó con su único amor verdadero, Luis Quiñones (1911-1979). Ella era la matriarca de nuestra familia y le sobreviven nueve de sus once hijos, veintinueve nietos, cincuenta y uno bisnietos. Nos gusta pensar que mientras ella asciende al cielo, mi abuelo Luis y mi tío Juan y titi Edith la están esperando en las puertas nacaradas. Sus restos serán trasladados a Puerto Rico como su último lugar de descanso.
