Oscar was born on November 22, 1949 to the late Mr. Joe Peterman and Mrs. Agnes Peterman. In 1965 he met Barbara Peterman and they wed in 1970 going on to have three children: Christopher Peterman, Latreeka Williams, and Mareeka Peterman.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Agnes Peterman, his wife: Barbara Peterman, his son: Christopher Peterman, a sister: Jeanette Berry, and his brother: Johnny Peterman.

He is survived by two children: Latreeka Williams (Jason), and Mareeka Peterman; four grandchildren: Ahriel Bell, Destiny Simms, Olivia Peterman, and Jayla Peterman; four sisters: Betty Peterman, Roberta Gilbert, Martha Dunlap, Alice Harris (Johnny); three sister-in-laws, Evelyn Varner, Chris Ann Kincey, Mary Kincey, one brother-in-law, Napolean Bradley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Oscar dedicated his life to Jehovah on June 27, 1975 and remained a faithful servant till his death. He loved sharing the many bible promises that brought him joy. He especially looked forward to living in the paradise with no pain and suffering and being able to see his loved ones again. He deeply cherished this bible promise.

Oscar was the proud business owner of Peterman’s Cement Finishers for over 30 years. He truly loved working in his business and had a deep love and respect for all of his crew members. He could talk for hours about the many projects he completed.

When he wasn’t working he enjoyed traveling, putting together puzzles and gardening. He was always growing something in his backyard and loved to share his harvest with family and friends. Along with his wife, he made sure that his house and kitchen were always open to family and friends. Many memories were made over big family meals and gatherings. He was deeply loved and respected by all his friends and family and we will miss him greatly.
