Oscar Merlo, 66 of Bluffton, SC, passed away on August 5, 2025.

Oscar Antonio Merlo, born in Managua, Nicaragua, passed away at his home in Bluffton, South Carolina, on August 5, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born on October 10, 1958.

Oscar was a retired military serviceman who dedicated his life to serving his country. Known for his love of fishing, golf, and spending time with his grandchildren and children, Oscar’s joy and dedication to his family were evident in everything he did.

Oscar is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Merlo; his daughter, Kristen Merlo; and his sons, Kristopher Merlo and Luis Merlo. He is also survived by his mother, Vilma Merlo, and his sister, Sophia Mayorga.

A private memorial service will be held for family and select friends/loved ones on August 13, 2025. 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone who has supported them during this time.
