I met Oscar in fifth grade in Morenci. We sat across the aisle from each other. I immediately liked his wit and corny jokes. We stayed friends and graduated from MHS in 1980. I met up with Oscar and his beautiful wife Patty when we moved back to Morenci in 1994. Our son Kyle and Oscar Jr. became best friends. I admired Oscar as a father and husband. He was such a wonderful friend. Oscar, Patty, and Oscar Jr hold a special place in my heart. Rest peacefully, my friend.

I met Oscar in 1990 in Juárez, Chihuahua, MX., at that time I was starting daiting the youngest sister of Oscar's wife Paty, later she became my lovely wife Nancy. I had the blessing to have Paty and Oscar present in our lifes for 34 years and they always were an example to follow as husband and wife, as parents and as a family. My heart is hurted with their sudden departure but I know that both are once again together in the presence of God. Oscar, thank you for being my friend, thank you for the memories, You and Paty Will always be in our hearts. Vaya con Dios amigo, nos volveremos a ver algún día.

I started working for FMI (Phelps Dodge back then) in 2007 and met Oscar shortly after. He always said hello and asked about how I was doing. Seventeen years later, he was still stopping to talk and find out how I’m doing. He was a rare person that cared, was quick witted and fun to joke with. I will miss our talks about family, Mexico and Spanish words – that I could never seem to learn. Rest in peace my friend – you are missed!

My condolences to Oscar's family. Prayers and Thoughts for the departed soul to rest in peace. Thanks Oscar and will remember you here as a friend and for the tons of discussions we have had and the technical support offered on chemistry front for Molybdenum.

I met Oscar in 2007 at the FMI Sanchez location, my grandmother had worked under Oscar for many years. She always raved about how much she loved working with him, he was funny, caring, courteous, intelligent, and authentic. In 2015 I was hired on with FMI and was lucky enough to have the chance to work with him these past 9 years. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly.
