Orvis Nielsen, a man of wit, humor, and a touch of cantankerousness, passed away on January 7, 2024. Born on April 6, 1949, in Fillmore, Minnesota, Orvis was the cherished son of Corine Aloise Nielsen and Vernon Hans Nielsen.

Orvis was a man of many gifts, but his greatest was his uncanny ability to share knowledge "about anything and everything." With a charismatic personality that drew people in, Orvis was known for his knack of turning even the most ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

Orvis married his beloved wife, Judy Nielsen, in 1970, marking the beginning of a loving partnership that lasted more than half a century. The joy of their union blessed them with three sons: Eric, Steve, and Curtis Nielsen. He was a dedicated husband and father who instilled in his children the importance of humor, understanding and the pursuit of knowledge.

Judy, along with their sons, survives Orvis. His unique wisdom, infectious laughter, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him will be greatly missed, but his lessons and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Orvis Nielsen’s life was filled with valuable lessons, contagious laughter, and the love of a close-knit family. He is fondly remembered as a man who lived life on his own terms. May his soul rest in peace.
