Orila's obituary
The world lost a remarkable soul, Orila Acosta, on December 22, 2023. Born on August 17, 1967, Orila rode the waves of life with grace and resilience, painting her days with colors of love, kindness, and individuality. She left an indelible mark on every soul she met.
Orila is survived by her daughter, Nubia Acosta, and her husband, Carlos Acosta, who, like the rest who knew her, mourn her loss yet celebrate the beauty of her life. Orila was a fixture at St. Matthew Catholic Church, where her faith shone brightly and inspired many.
Orila had a zest for life that manifested itself in her sharp and varied interests. She had a unique love for Lobster and Sweet tea. She found solace in the profound words of "The Bell Jar," and the powerful rhythm of Jazz often filled her home. Her favorite TV show, NCIS, provided her with endless hours of entertainment. She cherished "Gone with the Wind," and the art of Thomas Kincaid held a special place in her heart.
An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Orila loved the spirit of competition and camaraderie. Her preferred game was Gin, and she found immense joy in watching performances of "Phantom of the Opera." Orila had a deep love for nature, enjoying mountain hikes and exhilarating walks. Contrary to her love for mountains, her favorite vacation spot was Football, and locally, she could often be found admiring the view from the Hilltops.
Orila was a vigilant advocate for Animals and spent a significant part of her life supporting causes close to her heart. She wore her favorite color, Green, as a symbol of her love for nature and life. Orila’s spirit will continue to inspire us as we cherish her memory.
Orila's life was a testament to the fact that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her smile, her kindness, and her love will forever be engraved in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Orila. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
