Opal's obituary
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Opal Norene Owens (Miller), who left us peacefully on February 13, 2024. Opal was born on February 10, 1936 to her late parents Ernest and Lucille Miller. Her life was a testament to strong family ties, a love of simple pleasures, and a vibrant spirit that touched all who knew her.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Owens, and her cherished son Rusti Owens, she will be deeply missed by her devoted son, Jim Owens and daughter-in-law, Kris Owens, and her grandchildren; Chantz Owens, Sydney Owens , Nick Owens, Taylor Nokken, and Vincent Barletto.
Opal was a woman of simple tastes who took delight in life's everyday pleasures. She savored her favorite dishes of mashed potatoes, fried chicken and Chinese food. An inveterate coffee lover, she started every morning with a warm cup in hand. She was a fan of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and enjoyed watching old movies.
Opal's favorite recreational activities were a true reflection of her loving and nurturing spirit. She reveled in the company of her family and loved ones, their presence and mutual affection bringing her immense joy. She also found solace and satisfaction in taking care of her many cats over the years, and her garden, nurturing beautiful blooms with the same care she bestowed upon her family. She always reminded us to tell one another "I love you" and always stood at the door waving when loved ones left.
Opal's world was a palette of pink, aqua, and pastels, her favorite colors that reflected her gentle and warm personality. She was a beacon of kindness and love in the lives of those she touched and will be remembered for her nurturing heart and enduring spirit. Memories of her will continue on in the hearts of those who loved her.
