Oniell Martinez, age 53, was born to Awilda Martinez and Juan Martinez on July 28, 1972 in New Bruswick, Jersey. He was called to Heaven early, surrounded by family on August 11, 2025.
Oniell is survived by his siblings Juan Martinez Jr., Edna Martinez, Damaris Martinez, Javier Martinez, Anderson Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Christina Martinez, Stacia Martinez, his son Oniell Martinez Jr., and his daughter Carolina Morales, granddaughter Xiomara Martinez, daughter in law Nicole Martinez, grandson Aviayre Avant Crawley, Nieces and nephews Damien Montanez, Micheal Montanez, Alina Montanez, Anderson Montanez, Sara Montanez, Amber Montanez, Julia Virgil, Seth Virgil, Isaiah Virgil, Elijah Martinez, Wayne Matthew Martinez, Lolita Martinez Amira Martinez, Jamila Martinez, Johnathan Martinez, Amaris Martinez, William Martinez, Javier Jr. Martinez, Demetrius, Isis, Raven, Arianna. Oniell also leaves behind his beloved Wife Sandra with granddaughters Sorializ and little Sandra.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in passing by his nephews Andy Montanez and Willie Martinez.
Oniell spent his early childhood in New Brunswick, NJ surrounded by his immediate family, Grandmothers, Aunts and Uncles and Cousins. He enjoyed playing outside and learning about cars with his Father, walking to the Buccleuch Park with his mother while his older siblings where at school, and chasing and learning from his older brothers and sisters when they got home. Oniell was the baby of the family but his personality could fill a room.
His first job was Salesman at an Auto part store.
In young adulthood, he later moved to Buffalo NJ where he made many friends and stayed close to family. Oniell made lasting memories and impressions on everyone that he crossed paths with. He was never too shy to make someone laugh with a joke or a unique sound.
If you were looking for him, you could find him with his family, his friends or in the kitchen cooking something amazing and saying “here, try this”.
He loved to share his food dishes and recipes with all his family and in the words of his sister “if it was good he needed to share it”. He enjoyed driving his jaguar on the streets of Buffalo and making sure to tuck it away in cold winters. Sometimes you could find him at Canal Side Marina enjoying the views of water. He also found peace visiting Niagara Falls. Those who knew him best, knew he loved to joke and make everyone laugh. “You could always hear coming before you could see him from the sounds he made”. High whistles were his trademark. He was also great mimicking his favorite movie quotes and scenes. He touched the lives of everyone he met. He built lasting friendships and meaningful relationships and he leaves behind many loved ones. He was very protective of his family and someone they knew they could all call for anything. His memory lives on through all who loved him.
He will continue to be honored and loved for many more years to come. This page is dedicated to his everlasting memory.
