En 1988 tuve la dicha de conocer a esta ejemplar mujer quien fué una inspiración y ejemplo a seguir y quien ejerció el papel de madre "adoptiva" cuándo yo apenas tenía 23 y llegaba a EU. Una amistad que permitió acercarnos como familia. Sus sabios consejos, motivación y apoyo siempre estarán en mi corazón. Descansa en paz "Beautiful Lady"😔

i loved my abuela with my whole heart. she is my biggest inspiration and my favorite person. my dream has always been to be on broadway, and she took me to see my first show in nyc. i told myself that she would see my first broadway debut, and she was my support and inspiration to keep going through all the injuries and stress and tears. i know she will still be there to see me on the stage. i love you abuelita, im going to lean even more spanish for you and ill never ever ever stop texting you. te amo❤️ you are gods greatest angel.

Oigo?! The first sweet word I heard when I called for Augie to hang out and run amok in Woodside. She treated me like a son and I felt extra special when she served me lunch with fresh fruit on a tray while we played Donkey Kong on Augie's Commodore 64! A dedicated, loving, single mother fighting against all odss, she focused on raising Carlos and Augie to the best of her ability. She excelled in this aspect to the point where she ended up with a pilot and an entrepeneur! Well done Oneida! This photo means a lot to me because everyone has passed in my family and Oneida was part of mine also. That bright smile she had lighted me up and those around her. She was just "always around" and I never expected this sad day to come :(  I regret not being as much in touch as I could have been so I will share a life lesson we all already know...reach out and and touch your loved ones because we aren't here forever.
