"Yinka Ame" (Yinka American) , one of many nicknames while in Bulgaria , was truly a charismatic, passionate jolly good fellow with contagious laughter, never a dull moment amongst friends virtually or real life.  Gone too soon!!.  You will surely be missed.  RIP Bro!!

My heartfelt condolences to the wife, children, siblings, family, and friends of Egbon Yinka, affectionately known to many of us as Man Y during our time together in Block 34B in Sofia, Bulgaria. While may have evolved over the years, the essence of the relationships we built remain timeless. I had the honour of knowing him as a brother.

One of my fondest memories is the day he picked up a letter for me from the reception and discovered the connection we shared through my Uncle, whom he had known during his industrial attachment at Texaco Nigeria Ltd. He fondly referred to my uncle by his initials, SOB. From that moment on, he embraced me like family, displaying the warmth and generosity that truly embodied Egbon Yinka. His readiness to lend a helping hand and his talent for bringing joy to those around him are just a few of the qualities that made him so special.

Egbon Yinka had a remarkable gift for connecting with everyone, and his unwavering support was a source of comfort for many. As we come together to mourn his loss, let's also take a moment to celebrate the beautiful life he lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness.

Though death may take our loved ones from us, it cannot take the memories we hold dear. In our minds, we cherish the moments we shared, and in our hearts, we carry the love he bestowed upon us. Our faith assures us that one day we will be reunited, free from the pain of separation. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Your memory will forever remain a cherished part of our lives.

As I conclude my tribute, I would like to share a poignant excerpt that I believe Egbon Yinka would say to us:

“Ponder my friend,

As you are now, so once was I.

As I am now, so you must be.

So be up and doing”

He was a lover of music and sports particularly football

TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED BROTHER AND GREAT FAMILY FRIEND, OLUSEGUN ADEYINKA ADEOSUN

My dear Man Y as I and many other close friends used to call you, receiving the sad news of your passing on that faithful Teusday afternoon, 11th February 2025 through a text message left me deeply saddened and made me wept like a baby because it was so shocking and devastating
Oh yes, it was a heavy blow to me and my family members but we were immediately reminded and took solace in the word of God in Eccl 12:7 that says "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it" The fact that i was made to understand that your home call was preceded by a brief illness and you received necessary care in one of the best American hospitals equally made me to ask God questions Hmmm, it's not wrong to ask questions but what's not allowed is to question God You will remember that the disciples of Jesus asked Him questions but never for once argued with him
Olusegun Adeyinka Adeosun, your case was that of a shining light extinguished too soon Your bright light illuminated the environment you lived and worked, inspiring all around you with your boundless energy, jokes, infectious smile and limitless potentials I remember you were always talking about the idea of settling down in Florida after retirement
I recall our early days as boys and later young men growing up together in Odo Ona/Gada Ibadan and Mushin in Lagos, Nigeria even after you relocated to the United States of America, we accorded ourselves what I'll refer to as deep friendship and treated each other like blood brothers You were indeed a jolly good fellow My prayers go out to your lovely wife, Oluwakemi Adeosun, your precious children, grand children and other members of the family that they may find comfort during this time
Though your time here on earth may be short, your impact is well recognised and will be felt for a lifetime Yes, you're gone but you will never be forgotten Rest peacefully in the bosom of your maker dear brother and friend while your legacy lives in our hearts

Rev (Dr) 'Yinka Adepoju - Pojo, Nigeria 🇳🇬
