Ollie's obituary

Ollie Marie Pierce, fittingly known as Mollie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2023, having graced the world with her warmth, kindness and genuine spirit since July 24, 1950. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity and heartfelt lessons such as "To do unto others, as you would have them do unto you".

Ollie is survived by her daughters, Laticiama Madric-Worthington and Decembre Pierce, her son-in-law, Jon Worthington, her sisters, Pauline Majette, Charleen Harrell and Emmie Griffin (Norman), and her brother, Edward Majette. Her grandchildren, Keasha Madric, Lentez Moon, Parriz Pierce, Pediaiah Pierce, also survive her, as well as 7 great-grandchildren, carrying forth her zest for life and boundless love. She was predeceased by her sisters, Goldie Lawrence, Mary Saunders, Ella Hendricks, Brenda Payne, and her brother, William Majette. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Parrish Pierce, and her father and mother, John and Edna Majette.

In her lifetime, Ollie welcomed two children into the world, beginning her journey into motherhood on July 1, 1970, and again on December 31, 1977. She dedicated her life to her family and church, becoming an Ordained & Licensed Minister at Second Baptist Creeksville Church in 2015 under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Rawlings. In 1985, she relocated back to North Carolina to lovingly care for her mother, Edna Majette, until her passing.

She was a loyal attendee at Second Baptist Creeksville Church and an adamant volunteer in the community. She found peace and pleasure in simple things such as reading the Bible, helping the community, and tending to her flower garden. Her love for her home and her church was profound and the comfort she derived from these spaces was unparalleled.

Ollie's vibrant personality and caring nature shone through her favorite foods that included fried pork chops, fried fish, chicken pot pie, cabbage & white potatoes, and salmon cakes, enjoyed with a strong cup of coffee or Pepsi. She loved gospel music and watching anything crime or religion-based. Her most cherished performances involved anything consisting of her beloved grandchildren.

Ollie was deeply committed to the welfare of the elderly. The color red was a keen reflection of her bubbly, genuine and heartfelt personality. Her ultimate joy and pride came from her cherished family and church. She will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, kindness, and generosity. Ollie "Mollie" Pierce was truly adored and will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her.
