Ollie “Butch”'s obituary

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ollie “Butch” Blanton on the 13th day of March 2024. Born in 1952, Butch will be remembered as a loving and warm individual who had a deep love for his family, and an infectious affection for life’s simplest, but richest pleasures.

Butch is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of more than 50 years, Ginger Blanton, whom he married in the year of 1971. Alongside Ginger, he is survived by his daughters, Andrea Westphal and Christina Millner, and his son-in-laws,  Brian Westphal and Tim Millner. His memory will also be cherished by his pride and joy, granddaughter Makenna Blanton. Butch was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Oletha Blanton, his sister, Glenda Haralson, and his brother, Don Blanton.

Butch worked diligently until his retirement in 2017, and was recognized for his commitment and dedication throughout his career. A man of various passions, Butch had a fine taste for steaks and a special fondness for a refreshing peach slushie. He enjoyed the thrilling melodies of Elvis and the engaging narratives featured on Star Trek. A loyal fan of Dallas Cowboys, Butch often rejoiced the sporting spirit. Beyond his favorite TV show and sporting team, Butch's recreation was marked by hours spent golfing - a pastime he truly relished.

Butch was a loving and warm individual, and he left indelible footprints on the hearts of those who were blessed to have known him.

Among his greatest accomplishments, Butch always held "his girls" in the highest regard. He was a man who believed in imparting wisdom to his loved ones, leaving them with the tools to succeed. His enduring spirit, lessons, and loving memories will continue to live on through his family, while his loss leaves a void that can never be filled.

As we mourn Butch's departure from this world, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived, the beautiful memories he created, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. His life was a testament to the power of love, family, and passion, values that will continue to inspire us all.
