Olinda's obituary
"I always knew you were an angel, but now you’re officially one. I miss you so much, mom!" - Tom Gojkovich
It breaks our hearts to share that our beloved Olinda has passed away. After bravely battling cancer for the last four years, she peacefully went to be with the Lord. For everyone who knew her, Olinda was truly a ray of sunshine, full of warmth, kindness, and an unshakeable spirit. She touched so many of our lives with her contagious laughter, her incredibly generous heart, and that special way she had of making each of us feel truly seen and loved.
Olinda wasn't just there; she was a vibrant force everywhere she went. Whether it was her comforting words when you were down, her loudest cheers from the sidelines, or those quiet, thoughtful things she'd do that often went unnoticed but meant the world to all of us, Olinda always, always put others first. She was truly thoughtful, generous, giving, selfless, and joyful. She had this amazing superpower for finding joy in the little things every single day and then sharing that joy with absolutely everyone around her. Her door was always open, her kitchen always smelled wonderful, and her hugs were the best. She made all holidays so incredibly special for everyone, especially Christmas, and upheld precious family traditions for over 40 years, like the annual Easter scavenger hunt and her thoughtful handmade birthday cards.
She had such a special passion for quilting and shared her gift of quilting with family and friends. It wasn't just a hobby for her; it was another way she poured her giving nature into the world. Olinda’s creativity is displayed in all her quilting pieces and each of them were made with so much thought and heart!
Olinda also had a daily excitement for Wordle, always eager to share her tips and tricks for solving the day's puzzle. Her bright smile, her excitement for gifting, and the joy she found listening to her five sons or watching TV with Nick, her husband of 47 years, will forever live in our hearts. She truly adored her grandchildren, who lovingly describe her as the kindest, nicest 'best grandma' anyone could ask for. Olinda leaves behind her beloved husband Nick, five sons, five daughter-in-laws, and thirteen grandchildren. Her beautiful legacy of love and compassion reminds us all to live each day with purpose and joy, just as she did.
With much gratitude,
The Gojkovich Family
