Olin's obituary

Olin Preston Grant, born April 10, 1969, passed away on December 13, 2018 at the age of 49 years. Preston will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Brook Lossman-Grant and grandson, Carter Charles Wilson, his parents, Olin DeWitt Grant and Barbara (Babs) McIntosh, sister, Kim Grant Mitchell and brother-in-law, Hal Mitchell, niece, Allie Mitchell, and nephews, McCager and Bankston Mitchell. Preston will be eternally loved by Kate Grant and family, Megan Dolby, and Mike DuPrez.
Preston attended Blue Ridge Boarding School in Virginia and graduated from Westminster Catawba in South Carolina. He also attended Anderson University.
An early member of Rock Hill Country Club and an avid golfer by the age of four, he excelled in the sport he loved, ultimately earning his pro card. Preston was a lifelong Gamecock fan. Through his love of music, he had many friends around the country. All who met Preston were immediately drawn to his genuinely kind spirit.



A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 12:30 pm at John's Island Presbyterian Church -- 2550 Bohicket Road, Johns Island, SC. (The family will greet visitors at noon.)
A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 pm at the Cooper River Room -- 99 Harry M. Hallman Jr. Blvd. Mt. Pleasant, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Olin Preston Grant Scholarship Fund (make checks payable to Carter Charles Wilson, c/o Kim Mitchell 1813 Thoms Creek Court Longs, SC 29568)
