Ohji's obituary
Ohji (Elaine) Park Kim was born in Daegu, South Korea on December 6, 1951. She became a registered nurse at Dongsan Nursing School (대구 계명대학 간호학과) in 1973. With the support of her family, she emigrated to the US in 1976 and began working as a nurse at South Boston, VA. Later that year, she met and married her husband, Quiesup in Chapel Hill, NC. She became a registered nurse in 1978 in Dayton, OH, and subsequently she began working as an RN at Kettering Medical Center. She and her family eventually settled in La Crescenta, CA and she started working at Glendale Adventist Medical Center in Glendale, CA in 1980. After attending night classes while working, Ohji obtained a Bachelors of Science degree from Chapman College in 1984. She subsequently worked at Huntington Memorial Hospital as well.
Ohji was an active member of the community, advocating for other Koreans as a part of the Korean Parents and Teachers Association at Monte Vista Elementary School, and volunteering at Crescenta Valley High School where her children attended school.
In 2022, Ohji retired after working for 42 years as a registered nurse. Ohji went to be with the Lord on October 8.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Quiesup; daughters, Hanna (Kartik) and Jina; son, William (Lisa); and grandchildren Timothy, Nathan, and Olivia.
