Octavia “Irene" Giles, age 76, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away December 8, 2022, at Sterling Care of Bel Air in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, she was the
daughter of Albert Carloman Lewis and Hattie Ellen (Kennard) Lewis and was a wife for 54 years to Roger Giles.
Irene graduated from Central Consolidated in 1964. She worked several warehouse jobs including Saks and Clorox. She enjoyed skating and being at the Bel Air Skating Rink in Hickory. She also enjoyed taking bus trips with her sisters to Atlantic City and Charlest
own, just to name a few. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her husband, Rogers Giles of Aberdeen, MD; two daughters, Toni Giles-Hueitt (finance Ellery Vaden} of Edgewood, MD and Carla A. Purser of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, Albert Lewis, Jr. (Margaret) of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, Norman Whittington, Ill of Aberdeen, MD, Nicholas Whittington of North East, MD, Rogerick Giles,
of Los Angeles, California, Mar'tina Bonner of Aberdeen MD

Michael Jones, II of Dallas, Texas, Laurence Purser of Memphis Tennessee and Timothy Brunetz of Edgewood, Maryland; a
host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters,
Catherine Lewis, Grace Bishop, Alma Cromwell, Frances Fax, Shirley James, and Anne Bishop, and one brother, Darlington Lewis.
