You were our Dad, that worked your hands to the bones and with a minimal pay

You were our Dad, that did his best

to be there day in and day out

You were our Dad, that drove many miles in life for our school and work to those that hailed

You were our Dad, that chopped wood to run a fire stove to keep us warm bodied, hearted and mind

You were our Dad, who smiled and carried inside pain to protect most our happiness

You were our Dad, to correct whenever we showed wrong then we did right.

You were our Dad, that had no true extended family but ours, thankfully for us

You were our Dad, that wasnt the worst or the best at loving and neither were we

Norman Edward Savage,

You were our Dad.

We cherish your memory and forever smile

To our forever missed Dad

Happy Birthday, Dad Hope you enjoyed it. I love you and miss you too.
Sifting thru memories of you
Scattering up my brain
All this pain I hold inside
Could drive a girl insane
I'll be tough and push on thru
As the years go slowly past
I'll hold in my memory most
The time I saw you last
The wink n smile you gave me
Just before you drove away
I knew it would be the final
Episode in a Father/daughter play
Your suffering is over, Dad
As ours has just begun
Another fight, same old body
This time the cancer has won
We'll hold you in our hearts
As the weeks turn into years
I'll try to keep a smile upon
My face that streaked with tears
Love, Norma Savage

I connected with Uncle Bud a few years ago via Facebook. When I told him I flew back to New England and invited him to my Dad's for a family and friends get together, he indicated that he would do what it took to be there. It was great to see him along with his daughter, Becky and reconnect. Uncle Bud had a good heart. And, I am thankful I had the chance to get to know him a bit better before his passing.

Dear Norma,

Though I didn't get to have the privilege of meeting your dad in person, I did get to meet a bit of him through you, Paul, Eric & Rebecca. I did get to see how good a man he was in seeing how good people you all turned up as adults. My heart, my thoughts & prayers for peace to flood your hearts and ease your pain knowing though he's not physically with you, his legacy of love, memory happy shared moments will live forever. Big hugs & all my love.

Sincerely

Oz
