Norman's obituary

Norman Lynn Porter Jr., 75, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on February 7, 2022.

He was born to parents Lynn and Betty Porter on July 7, 1946 in El Paso, Texas. Norm graduated from Austin High School in 1964, where he participated and lettered in football, basketball, and track. He then attended Texas Western College.

After college, he moved to southern California, where he lived for nearly 25 years before returning to El Paso, Texas to be closer to family.

Norm was known for his love of guns,  cars, and most sports.  He was an avid football fan who loved the Aggies and the Cowboys. I remember learning as a child that five more minutes of football was not the same as five minutes.

Norm is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Gleaton, Kimberley Thornton, and son Daniel Porter; sister Patty Porter Carr; three grandchildren, Emi Thornton, Dehvann Alcide, and Hailey Rose Porter; neice Crystal Ramos, nephew Brian Carr; and by David Palacio, Godfather to Kim.
