Norm's obituary
Norm Guiles, 73, of Redlands, California passed away on June 2, 2025. Born on September 2, 1951 in Los Angeles, he was the son of Wayne Guiles and Anna Randall Guiles. He graduated from UCLA in 1975 with a master's degree in materials engineering, and received an MBA from New Mexico Highlands University in 1978.
Norm served in the Air Force for four years obtaining the rank of captain. He began his career in 1979 as a systems engineer with TRW (later Northrop Grumman) and later moved into management. He loved his work and retired after 35 years. Since retiring he enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, catching up with long-time friends, playing tennis with the group at Ford Park, being an active member of Redlands Round Table, and working with others to put on the annual TRW/Northrup Retirees Luncheon.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Guiles; his daughter, Shannon Gutenkunst; his son, Jason Guiles, and three grandsons. Norm will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate to share in his life—whether as family, tennis partners, colleagues, or friends who laughed and appreciated life with him. His warmth and unwavering love will live on in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to YouthHope Foundation, PO Box 7803 Redlands, CA 92375.
