Norman's obituary
Norman Leo Gagne, 77, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully surrounded by Family on April 17th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 22, 1947, in Manchester to Andrew and Rose Gagne, Norman lived a full and vibrant life marked by a love for family, a deep curiosity for the world, and a passion for building and creating. As a young man, he could often be found under the hood of a car, rebuilding classic muscle cars with skill and pride. That same hands-on spirit stayed with him throughout his life—whether he was tinkering with computers, heading out on a fishing trip, or finding the next hobby to master.
Norman proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968, earning the rank of E-5. A sharpshooter and decorated veteran, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal for his bravery and service.
In 2016, Norman Married the love of his life, Carol Ann Gagne. Together, they shared a deep bond filled with concerts, laughter, local car shows, and the joy of family gatherings. He took pride in being the unofficial family driving instructor, teaching most of his loved ones how to drive—a rite of passage he took seriously, and with a touch of humor.
Norman was a devoted father to his children: Lisa Silcock and her husband Brian; Michelle Gagne and her fiancée Melanie; and Charles Gagne. He was a proud grandfather to Darren Silcock and his fiancée Amelia, and Jason Silcock and his girlfriend Lydia.
He also embraced Carol’s children as his own: Paul, Bill, and Melissa Gregoire, along with Melissa’s daughters, Tyisha and Dejana.
His beloved cat, Chase, was never far from his side—always ready to lend a comforting paw or a bit of comic relief.
Norman was predeceased by his wife, Joan Gagne, and his parents, Andrew and Rose Gagne.
His legacy is one of resilience, humor, and heart. He will be remembered for his love of music, his fierce dedication to family, and the twinkle in his eye when introducing someone to something new.
He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him always.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
May he rest in peace, surrounded by the roar of engines, the sound of his favorite songs, and the love of all those he held dear.
