Norma-Rose's obituary

Norma-Rose Sédine Termé-Smith, age 12, of Malden, MA, following a 7- year battle with Pineablastoma, a rare brain cancer, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, MA, on May 18, 2013, Norma-Rose left behind a legacy of love and deep connections. She was a loyal friend and a gentle mediator whose memories will forever be cherished by her parents, Pauldine Termé and Yohan Osé Smith; her brother, Yohan Dean Termé-Smith; her sister, Kayla Smith; her dog, Casper; her grandparents Norma Allen, Roselnie Termé, and Pierre R. Bernard; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

After Norma-Rose was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, she rarely lost her spirit. Even when confined to a hospital bed for extended periods, she excitedly watched her favorite movies and t.v. shows and talked about them with mom and the medical team. If you were lucky she may have even invited you for a drink at the bar, shirley temple anyone?

Norma-Rose brought cheerful energetic joy and laughter to everyone she met. A vibrant student at Beebe School, she was known for her rambunctious storytelling, her passion for anything Stitch, games, fashion and makeup, rainbow and bright colors, and her kind heart. Whether she was declaring championship over a game of UNO before the match even started or simply brightening a room with her smile, she made an unforgettable impact.

Norma-Rose has been a pedal partner on PMC Team Duncan since 2022. She cheered the team at PMC Winter Cycle 2023 and 2024, participated in PMC Pedal Partner Video, JF Strike Out Cancer Telethon and was featured on Jimmy Fund Walk Home Page. She attended PMC Pedal Partner Events @ Fenway Park and was a Dana Farber Boston Marathon Patient Partner. She inspired Team Duncan to raise $1M for the past 3 years and was loved by Team Duncan ❤️

Known for her compassionate, charismatic, intelligent, and witty spirit, Norma-Rose was a bright light to her friends and family. To know Norma-Rose, was to know that fantasy could be reality. Her time was heartbreakingly short, but she was larger than life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

A celebration of Norma-Rose’s life will be held on February 14, 2026 at St. John's the Evangelist Church, Cambridge. Guests are encouraged to wear Norma-Rose inspired attire; bright and cheerful to celebrate her vibrant life.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to a family support fund to help cover final expenses and support Pauldine Termé, who served as a devoted full-time caregiver for Norma-Rose.
