Norma Belles, age 97, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, in Boerne, Texas. 

Norma was born on January 30th, 1927, to Bertha P. Owens and Simon E. Owens in Butler, Missouri. In 1948, she married Charles Belles on January 24, in Lawrence, Kansas.

Besides being a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she was an avid reader, enjoyed cross stitch, walking, gardening, and playing cards. She never missed watching a golf or baseball game, often with her loving dog Sitka by her side. She was passionate about political and social issues and volunteered every year to serve on the local election board.

Norma was predeceased by her husband Charles Belles, sons Larry Riggs and Steven Belles, daughter Sharon Belles Taber, sister Eunice Owens Smith and brother Gerald Owens. 

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Belles Coffelt, grandchildren Angela Taber, Joseph Taber, Daniel Taber, Nicole Coffelt, Sean Coffelt, Anthony Belles, Tara Belles, Cody Belles, and her great-grandchildren Joseph Taber Jr., Tristan Taber, Sabrina Taber and Isabelle Taber.

A celebration of life will take place in Lawrence, Kansas.
