Ada Noreen Eastman Kalbfleisch, 81, of Eureka California, passed away July 14, 2018, in Eureka after a long illness. Noreen was born October 17, 1936, to Roy and Alma (Hunter) Eastman, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She graduated Filer High School in 1954. She married Darrel Kalbfleisch, originally of Filer, June 17, 1954, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was an excellent Air Force wife and wonderful mother to five children while Darrel served for nearly 22 years, living in Texas, California, Idaho, Ohio, Utah, Thailand, and Florida. They also lived in Boise, Idaho and Milpitas, San Jose, and Concord, California, and Washington. An accomplished singer, she sang at many churches and at weddings. She was a lead singer and soloist with the Eglin Air Force Base Balladeers for several years. She was a leader in many church and community activities. She is survived by her husband Darrel of Eureka, California, son Keith (Cristina) of Winter Park, Florida, son Leon (Esther) of Arcata, California, son Monte of Laughlin, Nevada, son Randal (Regina) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, daughter Julie Noreen of Walla Walla, Washington, sister Bertina, and brother Duane (Myrna), and Grandchildren Amber, Kaleb, Michael, Michelle, and Emily Noreen. She was predeceased by her sister Virginia Lee and brothers Roy Earl, Darrell, and Stephen Bartell. Interment will be in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA, followed by a Celebration of Life in Fairfield.
Thoughts from husband and children: Fantastic wife and love, talented, capable, leader, beautiful, fun, best friend and partner. Everybody loved her. Mama Reeny was the very best at what mothers do best: making her children know and deeply feel that they are truly loved, no matter what. Such a wonderful Mother who always gave unconditional love, and will be so very missed. Her family was her joy, and she showed it in her sweet smile, positive outlook, and beautiful voice in song. I would have never known such sweet love and affection even existed, had I not been so blessed to be the son of my magnificent mother, whose fondness flowed from her heart through her hands onto every hair on my head with hugs, songs, and caresses that said to my soul's release: be at peace, knowing that no matter what may come along, someone, your Mom, always loves you; what a precious and lasting legacy she left for me, and to everybody, which will be passed far beyond death!
