Norbert's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norbert Richter, a caring father, grandfather, and friend. Norbert was born on July 20, 1933 and passed away on April 18, 2024.
Norbert was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen Richter, and is survived by his daughter, Sharon Whitestone, his son, Norbert Richter Jr. Step-daughter, Julie Shannon and son in law Rory. His love extended to his six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Norbert had a long-standing career and ultimately retired in 1999 from St. Petersburg Times, leaving an indelible mark on all those he worked with. His work ethic and dedication were unmatched, earning him the title Man of the Year. These are virtues that he passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Known for his warm personality and love of family, Norbert's home was always filled with laughter and love. He was a hardworking man who instilled in his family the value of strong work ethics.
Norbert's life is best summed up by his legacy of love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love, teachings, and memory will continue to live on in their hearts.
He was not just a man, but an incredible inspiration. The lessons he shared, his commitment to his work, and the way he loved his family will forever be cherished.
