Mrs. Nora Martin, 89, of Henderson, NV, passed away, peacefully, on April 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with dementia. She was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience, often demonstrating a quiet demeanor. However, her spirit truly shined when she passionately cheered for her USC football team.

Nora was born on February 28, 1935, in Postville, Iowa. She graduated from Postville High School in 1952 and later married her childhood sweetheart, Richard Wenrich in 1956. They had three beloved children, Deanna, Barbara, and Robert. Their marriage ended after 19 years, however, Nora's dedication to her family remained steadfast. She worked full-time as a legal secretary for the law firm of Gillin and Scott all while raising her three children. She put their education first, putting them in private school, and was very involved in their extracurricular activities… (Music lessons, Ballet, Jobs Daughters, Scouts, Little League and Choir)

After her long career as a legal secretary, Nora embarked on a career at Lockheed Martin, where she worked until her retirement and earned her Bachelor's degree from USC. It was during this time that she met Ralph Martin through their square dance club, and they married in 1981.

Twenty years later, Nora faced the loss of her beloved Ralph after caring for him through a long illness. She continued working until her retirement in 2002 and moved to Henderson, NV. In her retirement, and before her illness, she was very involved with her church community, and loved to volunteer. She volunteered regularly at the Ronald McDonald House.

Nora cherished simple pleasures like a good cup of coffee, reading and clipping magazine articles, and she loved her ice cream! Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, whether it was attending a football game, concert, baptism, or any significant event. Her face would light up when cradling or interacting with any of her grandchildren.

Nora was preceded in death by her brother; Robert Peake, husband; Ralph Martin, and grandson; Jeremy Thaler. `

Nora is survived by her children Deanna, Barbara (Butch), and Robert; Ralph’s six children and grandchildren; grandchildren, Melissa (Adrian), Monica, Brianna (Angel), Brittany (Kenny), Kristen, Timothy, Katherine, Michelle ,and 7 great grandchildren; brother, Glen Peake.

A Visitation has been scheduled for Monday, May 6 from 11:00 - 3:00 at Palm Mortuary. 800 S. Boulder Hwy. Henderson, NV. A graveside service will be held at Eternal Valley Mortuary at a future date to be determined.
