My favorite memories of Uncle Nolan are when I didn't come home from school and grandma sent him to look for me. He found me but I was getting beat up by a bully. Uncle Nolan threw the bully on the ground, said a few words to him, and put me in his truck. Uncle Nolan told me it was "alright" and we went home. My other memories are when Uncle Nolan chased us around the house (remember what he was holding when he chased us?) and going on summer road trips. Uncle Nolan usually sat in the back seat as we little ones securely played and slept.

Obituary

Nolan John Carter was born in Chicago, Illinois at St. Luke’s Hospital on December 7, 1945 to Oliver and Iphigenia Katrina Carter. Nolan served as a Marine in the Vietnam War and was a fisherman later in life who owned his own fishing boat. Nolan is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Oliver Carter and Clyde White, III. He is survived by his sisters Aurelia, Iphigenia (“Jeannie”), Pamela, Armalona (“Army”) and many nieces and …
