Nola's obituary

Nola Jean Bramos (December 15, 1957 – April 26, 2025)

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Nola Jean Bramos on April 26, 2025. Nola was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She shared nearly 50 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Steve Bramos, after marrying on August 23, 1975. Together, they raised five children and built a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering devotion to family.

Nola is survived by her husband Steve; their children Eric (Anna) Bramos, Heather (Kory) Brown, Tom (Tara) Bramos, Matt Bramos, and daughter-in-law Julie Bramos Messina. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Dan Bramos, whose memory she carried tenderly in her heart. Proud grandmother of Hannah, Emily, Caitlyn, Kendall, Chloe, Elise, William, Andrew, (Sofia), Jesse, Alexis, Daniella, Kennidy, and Charlotte, and the joyful great-grandmother of Anastasia.

She was also survived by her brothers Jim (Pat) Tarrant, Gary (Lisa) Tarrant and Tim (Michelle) Tarrant. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Buel and Zelda Louise Tarrant, and her brother John (Kay) Tarrant.

Family was truly the heart of Nola’s world. She was the "soft place to land" for so many — endlessly supportive, kind, and ready with a warm embrace or a listening ear. Tuesdays were reserved for movie outings with her grandchildren, and she was a constant cheerleader at their theatre performances, singing competition, sporting events, and every life milestone. She loved proudly sharing photos and stories of her family with her wide circle of friends.

A gifted storyteller, Nola could recount tales that were both hilarious and heartfelt — sometimes stretching reality just enough to make a good story even better. She was a joyful (and competitive) game player, especially pinochle, and a wonderful cook known for favorites like no-bake cookies and cheesy potatoes.

Nola lived life as an adventure. Whether gathering family Up North at the cabin, traveling cross-country with friends, singing karaoke, planning camping adventures, enjoying casino trips or watching her beloved K-dramas, she embraced life with joyful enthusiasm.

Her commitment to community was evident in her support of the Mason wrestling teams and in helping to establish the Mason Theatre Booster Club for her grandchildren. She also brightened the days of countless students through her work in the school lunch program, always sharing her kindness and building lifelong friendships. A faithful member of the Greater Lansing Church of Christ, Nola lived out her love for God and others every day.

Among her friends, Nola was the "social director," the one who brought people together, organized gatherings, and showed up with unconditional love and support. Whether helping a friend through chemotherapy, traveling across the country to lend a hand, or simply making time for someone in need, Nola lived her life in service to those she loved.

Her legacy is one of unwavering love, laughter, generosity, and joy. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her spirit will live on in all those who were blessed to know her. A memorial service for Nola Bramos will be held on May, 10, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Mason First Presbyterian Church, 131 East Maple Street, Mason. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00. A reception will be held following the service. Feel free to leave your condolences on this site, leave a picture or tell a story about Nola.
