It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Nina Afi Daniela Houngbo. Nina was born on December 11, 1996, and left us too soon on December 23, 2025. A radiating source of warmth and joy, she is mourned deeply by her family and friends.

Nina was a vibrant soul, renowned for her bubbly personality that was always accompanied by the biggest smiles, thunderous laughter, and politeness that charmed everyone she met. She had a way of making people feel loved and valued, teaching us the invaluable lessons of love, support, patience, and showing up for others.

Another noteworthy aspect of Nina's life was her love for makeup. Her face, always flawlessly adorned, was a testament to her skill and passion for this art. She not only mastered the craft but also generously shared her knowledge, teaching us all how to enhance our features and carry ourselves with grace and confidence. An alumnus of Vancouver’s renowned Blanche Macdonald Centre, Nina's academic achievements were impressive and recognized by all who knew her.

Nina had the gift of touching hearts, and everyone she met couldn't help but adore her. Whether it was showing up in countless ways for friends and family or bringing her smile everywhere she went. Her playful spirit and ability to radiate sunshine was further amplified each time she was behind the microphone at church or just singing at home. She could memorize melodies and lyrics faster than anyone! 

As we mourn her untimely departure, we also celebrate her life. Nina leaves behind a beautiful legacy of kindness, love, and compassion. Her laughter, akin to sunshine, had the ability to brighten the gloomiest of days. The art of maintaining the most gorgeous-looking face, a skill she honed and taught others, is a part of her we will always remember.

Her absence will be felt deeply, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. As we bid farewell to Nina Afi Daniela Houngbo, let us honor her by living the values she embodied and cherishing the beautiful memories she has left behind.
