Nimrod's obituary
Dodoy was the eldest among all twelve siblings in his family. He loved swimming, fishing and gardening as a child living in a small island of Araceli. Even in his later years, Dodoy enjoys gardening as he said, it reminds him of his simple life growing up in the island.
Dodoy graduated from
Adamson University, Manila, Philippines on October 10, 1958 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry. Upon graduation, Dodoy worked for Congressman Abordo of Palawan in Manila where he met a young teacher Benita while attending a small First Baptist Church.
On May 14, 1966, Dodoy and Benita got married at Doanne Baptist Church, Iloilo City. Soon after marriage, Dodoy landed a job at the Central Bank of the Philippines where he worked for the next 20 years and retired as a Chief of the Cash Department.
In 1986, Dodoy, Benita and their children immigrated to the United States. The whole family lived in San Francisco for about 5 years until 1991, when they purchased their first home in Hayward, CA. Upon moving to Hayward, Dodoy worked as a Security guard for the next 30 years until 2021
where Dodoy finally decided to stop working. In the same year, Dodoy and Benita sold their home in Hayward and bought a house in Florida to get closer to their children and grandchildren. The whole family was very excited that they could all reside close to each other again, just like it was in CA. However, in the morning of July 3, 2021, Dodoy never woke up from his sleep. Dodoy joins his parents, his sister Ruth and brother Jimmy in heaven. He was survived by his wife, 5 children and 4 grandchildren. Dodoy is known by his friends and family to be a very humble man. He is hard working, very quiet and peaceful, a man devout to his faith and devoted to his family.
Dodoy will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His loving heart has become a beacon of light in their lives where his presence is constantly felt. Thankfully, the family’s faith ensures them of seeing Dodoy again someday in the eternal glory of heaven and in the presence of their Lord Jesus Christ. As Dodoy’s headstone says “..absent in the body is to be present with the Lord” 1 Cor 5:13.
