This was written in collaboration with Nicole and family.

"Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, / Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, / Silence the pianos and with muffled drum / Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come."

Nicole Paige Williams left us earthside on October 9th, on her own terms.

Nicole loved her family, travelling, and teaching. Her favourite was the 'aha' moments when her students finally got it, and the amazing way she could impart knowledge. For the tangible things, she adored Coronation Street and Christmas.

She never shied away from calling out injustice or speaking up on behalf of others. She was the most do-it-yourself person you could meet, and was a demon with the hand saw.

Instead of flowers, she would like donations to be made to the World Wildlife Fund to support their work protecting polar bears. She said no one seems to care that these beautiful creatures are losing their habitat, and would love to leave a legacy for them.

So today, have a cup of tea in Nicole's memory, pet your dog, and hug your family.
