In the quiet of my grief
That only I can feel
Tears of sadness come and pictures of
You ruminate through my mind

There are tears of sorrow mixed with tears of memories of what we had together as mother and daughter

We lived far apart for most of your life but I always had you in my thoughts

We kept in touch through the years, shared some ups and downs,
then you drifted into your own world

Grief courses through my mind and body for what could have been and what had happened in the end

I think of you as resting, from the sorrow and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no pains and fears

My prayers console me as does the memories of you that no one else has
