It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nick Reyes who was born on December 22, 1964, and left us all too soon on September 6, 2023. A man of great character, Nick's personality was best described as compassionate, funny, protective, and giving. He had an enduring love for the 'oldies but goodies' music genre, was always up for a good comedy show or concert, and was a dedicated fan of the San Francisco 49ers.
Nick was a cherished member of the Reyes family. He was predeceased by his mother, Diana Ramos Gonzalez, and his brother, Arthur Reyes. His legacy will continue through his loving family, including his daughter, DJ Garcia, and son, Damien Garcia. He is also survived by his brother, Leo Pimentel, and niece, Ralene Reyes, who hold treasured memories of him. His nephews, Arthur Reyes III, Chris Bazan, Daniel Reyes, and Raymond Mata, along with his cousins, aunts, and uncles from the Ramos Family and cousin Frances White, will remember him fondly. Nick extended his family through his bonds with Brittnee Sorenson, Clarissa Holguin, Lisa Mendoza, and many others who started off as friends and became family who all are a part of his life story.
Nick was a proud graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, North Broadway, Los Angeles, CA, Class of 1983. His best lessons encapsulated his unique spirit and determination: Don't give up, keep God first, and believe that God is with you always. It was this philosophy and his faith that allowed Nick to leave a lasting impact on the lives of many who have recovered and maintained their sobriety, marking his legacy of kindness and generosity.
