Nicholas Benjamin Templeton (January 13, 1989 – May 19, 2024)

Nick Templeton, 35, of West Des Moines, IA, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from health complications after a long battle with mental illness and addiction.

Nick cared deeply for his family, friends, and pretty much any living being he had the chance to meet. He preferred to be working outdoors in one capacity or another and being in the company of horses and dogs. His smile, laughter, and presence brought joy and comfort to so many.

He is survived and will be missed by so many, including: his parents Mark Templeton (Irene) and Terry McConnell (Kelly), his brother, Nate Templeton (Chelsea), sisters Stacy Greenwell, Kelly Johnson (Eric), 7 nieces (Kayla, Taylor, Alexis, Londan, Ashley, Emery, and Carsyn), great nephew, Brekan, great niece, Nora, his best friend and 4-legged companion, Emmitt, and extended family of uncles, aunts, step siblings, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Des Moines, IA, and details will be provided once available.
