Nick was born and raised in Jackson, MI, where he passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2023 after a battle with mental illness and drug use. He was a heavy equipment operator and also did asphalt work. He loved  his children, his family, friends and two Boston terriers, Luna and Nova. He enjoyed his line of work and was very skilled at everything he did. Nicholas had a love for Ford Mustang sports cars and sports. Nicholas had a very big heart and cared for everyone and tried to help whenever he could. He was an amazing father, son, partner, friend and just all around person to be around. Nicholas is survived by his mother Jeri-Finch-Barker, Step-Father Roger Barker; his father, Willis Ray Salyer Step-Mother Rose Salyer; his brother, Wade Salyer; his children, Danielle and Alyssa Salyer (Ghannam), Caleb Eldred and Keegan Salyer; his partner of the last 15 years, Nicole Pauli; and two step children, Haiden French and Kyilee French. Nicholas was taken from us too soon and he will be dearly missed. So until we meet again we will keep you in our hearts.
