Nick climbed again! With friends from the Hike Club he created. He brought people together and we will always remember him as the incredible friend he was to us.

Nick always lit up our clinic with his positive energy when he came in for prosthetic care. His story inspired me and I will deeply miss talking to him about music and outdoor activities as we figure out ways to optimize his prosthetics. My deepest condolences to his family and friends during these tough times.

Nick Noland was a great mentor and teacher to me both in the classroom and on the trail. I’ll never forget the songs he played for us in class that filled the room. My condolences go out to his family.

My heart goes out to Nick Noland’s family. It breaks my heart to hear of his loss. I had Nick Noland as my English teacher at Manitou Middle School in 2014, and he inspired me and encouraged me to pursue my passion of writing, which has continued to do this day. If not for him, I do not know if I would have learned to love writing so much. He was an incredible teacher and a wonderful man. I used to go to class anticipating his guitar-playing and singing; it touched my heart every time. I hope that Nick is at peace, and I cannot express how sorry I am to hear of his loss.

I've only known Nick since this summer, he played guitar outside my shop so he was my daily entertainment on warm days! I'm a big lover of nature and the mountains and I'm a long time guitarist so we hit it off immediately, and I was so happy to have made a new friend after just moving here last year. I was really looking forward to writing and recording some music with him, he will be greatly missed. You are all in my thoughts!

i am so incredibly saddened to find out this news. mr noland as ive always thought of him was one of my middle school teachers. everybody thought he was the most charming and nicest teacher there. i would get dress coded alot over really just being alternative, and multiple times he reassured me he thought i just looked cool and he was sorry for how i was singled out. he always made sure i was engaged in class and felt seen. he would talk about his time on the appalachian trail alot, which always stuck with me. seeing these mountains for the first time reminded me of the crazy stories my awesome teacher had here. i will always have a place in my heart for the great role model he was. i am devastated knowing such a sweet soul is gone from our world.

Jeffrey and Susan,
I didn’t understand love until I had children of my own. I’m terribly saddened to read of Nicks death and my heart aches for all of you.
All,
I haven’t spoken with Nick since high school, but during those years he (along with Jonathan Bright) were my two peer role models…though they never knew it.
I’m grateful for the impact he had on me during those years and am certain he reached so many others.
I was definitely different (still am). I wore 10 watches, had spiky hair, and had large safety pins in my shirt, but Nick never made me feel different. He accepted me for who I was and treated me like everyone else. That helped me immensely. Thank you all for your part in that.
I’ll keep doing the same for others.
I am sorry for the pain you all feel. I know healing is going to be a process and will likely never be completed.
Treasure life,
TJ Mack

Nick, sweet Nick. While working with him at MSMS, I gave a joke a day during announcements, and 75% of those jokes were provided to me by Nick. Even after Nick left MSMS, I still texted him for jokes - cuz he had the best ones. Sending love, prayers, and thoughts to Maggie, the boys, and family. God Bless you.
