Nics dad was my English honors teacher at chaparral. I graduated in 2006. Nic and I worked at the local cold stone together and he was such a sweet kid. I came across this googling which of my past teachers were still teaching at chaparral. So sad to see this. Though I haven't seen or talked to him since we were about 16 years old, I have great memories. Nic was an awesome kid. We had always laughed because I had accidentally plagerized on my Washington Irving paper and Mr Larson had caught it. I wish you all the best.

I am just now seeing this and my heart goes out to Nic's family and those left in his wake.  It's been a long time, but we were good friends in high school. Nic was so so smart and he played the guitar so well, he taught me a few things on it. He was dating a friend of mine, but I do remember his sense of humor and his smile.  I went to a show of his and you could tell he loved being up there, he loved playing his guitar and his band. I'm so sorry.  Torn between gone too soon and now he has his wings, I pray for love and healing for those who knew and loved Nic.
I was so very saddened to hear of your profound loss. Prayers for the healing peace and comfort of family and friends.

Dear Damon, Anna-Marie, and family,

Words cannot tell you how saddened I was to hear of Nic's passing. He was one of my all-time favorite students!  I loved his quiet presence and sweet smile.  He was so quick to grasp the difficult German grammar and always polite and considerate of others in the class.  As a musician myself, I also admired his musical talent and sensed the depth in him.  I'm so sorry for his and your suffering from this unfortunate illness!  As it turns out, my Easter music responsibilities make it impossible for me to attend his service.  Please know that you have been and continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve his loss.

Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers for the journey ahead.

Larson family - while there are no words that will ease the pain, I’m sending endless thoughts & prayers to wrap around each of you through this heartbreak. I will be lighting a candle in Nic’s honor as I have no doubt he will continue to shine light through all of you from heaven.

“I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories.” —Leo Buscaglia

Damon,
With all of my love I am praying for you and yours.
I first met Nic freshman year high school. We ended up having multiple classes together and somehow sitting next to each other in all of them. I quickly realized after partner work that I always wanted to be partnered with Nic, he was very smart! Fast forward a few years and he had become a very close friend. Turns out he lived just down the block! We would meet before school and often he would be playing guitar and jamming.. we would eat lunch together.. play in jazz band together. One of my favorites--the jazz festivals. Nic and I always had fun running around.. I mean.. working the festival and definitely not goofing off! Nic even introduced me to my husband who was also great friends with him throughout and after high school. My husband Brian and I will always have him to thank for our relationship. Nic was the most incredible guitar player and watching and listening to him play with such natural ability was truly something else. It was amazing. He will forever live on through memories, conversations and in our hearts and truly be missed. Love you Nic.

I fondly remember Nic in my planetary astronomy class. He became enthralled in the humbling magnitude of the vast distances in our solar system and the search for life beyond Earth. He’s among the stars now, those familiar beacons in the night sky that gave him peace in turbulent times.

Damon, we are thinking of you in your great loss and can't imagine the grief you are experiencing.  Our love and prayers for you always.  Denny and Nancy Krenz

Damon I am so sorry for your loss.  You and your family are in my prayers.

I hope an outpouring of love for your family helps you feel less alone in enduring this devastating loss. Our family is sending lots of love to all of you.
Our family has been fortunate enough to have known and love the whole Larson family for 26+ years. In fact our son Corey and Nic met in first grade. And that led to our daughter and Sam to have known each other “their whole lives”.  When I think of that beautiful, bright and talented young man Nic I think oh bing cherries. Why you ask? Because whenever Nic and Sam came for a sleep over Nic always loved the bing cherries. I tried my best to have them for him whenever he came by. Nicolas the world lost a beautiful and lovely soul. You are forever in our hearts and we love you.  Your Herrmann family
