Nick's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas "Nick" Joviak, born on October 28, 1989, who left us too soon on May 21, 2023. A loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Nick was well-known for his kind, loving, and edgy personality with a heart larger than life.
Nick is survived by his wife, Elisa Joviak; his son, Kilian Joviak; his step-son, Drake Hilts; his step-daughter, Aria Hilts; his mother, Denise Joviak; his father, Nathan Joviak; his brother, Derek Timbers (Dani); his sister, Kristin Janke (Rob); and his sister, Katie Holloway (Greg). He married Elisa Joviak in 2020, and they welcomed their son, Kilian, in 2022.
In 2014 Nick graduated college with his BSN, RN and moved from Cleveland Ohio to Colorado Springs to begin his career in Nursing. In 2021, Nick began working as the Director of Nursing at Team Select Home Health Care, a cause close to his heart, especially with children in need. He was a determined and hard working man and his legacy will be a testament to always giving your best.
Nick's favorite foods included German and Irish cuisine, though he was known to enjoy almost anything except for tomatoes and mushrooms. He had a taste for coffee, Red Bull, Jamison, Beer, and Bloody Mary’s. He was a fan of the book Fight Club, the music from Sublime (amongst many others), and his favorite TV shows were Futurama, True Crime, Breaking Bad, and American Dad. His preferred movies included Fight Club, Underworld, and John Wick.
Nick enjoyed soccer and skateboarding at a young age and always supported his hometown football teams, the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State University. He enjoyed spending time with his family, at the pool, forging knives with his homemade forge, and building guns. He liked to stay active by lifting weights and cherished vacationing in the Outer Banks, North Carolina with his family.
Nick had a passion for home health care and dedicated himself to helping children in need. His favorite color was black, and those who knew him best describe him as the best kind of friend and with having deep family values, while always pushing to live life to its fullest and enjoying every moment.
Nick's passing leaves an immense void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. His fun-loving spirit will be dearly missed, his memory cherished, and his enduring legacy will continue to inspire those he left behind. Rest in peace, Nick.
