Nick fell ill on March 3rd, 2025. He was sick, but we didn’t realize how sick he really was. After a few days, he was transported to the hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU with a multitude of issues: a type 2 heart attack, bleeding ulcers, and stage 2 bladder cancer.

Nick was eventually released to come home. After about a week his condition began to further decline; he was unable to walk and hospice was called. He was in hospice at home for 4 1/2 weeks.

We are most grateful to St. Thomas Hospice and their wonderful staff. And to our angel caregivers: Jo, Ilyssa, and Roma.

Nick passed away in his sleep on the morning of May 11, 2025. He is finally at peace.
